More information about AmeriCorp is available at http://www.americorps.gov/for_individuals/choose/state_national.asp Responsibilities - Provide one-on-one counseling to area homeowners facing foreclosure. - Negotiate workout plans with loan servicers for qualified clients. - Collaborate with colleagues to conduct home retention seminars and homebuyer seminars - Assist in teaching group financial education classes, as needed. - Participate with foreclosure seminars/symposiums/workshops hosted by LCD and other agencies or organizations Qualifications - Must meet AmeriCorps’ placement requirements. - Commitment to work with families to prevent foreclosure and to provide safe, decent affordable housing. - Self-motivated and able to work productively with minimal supervision. - Strong public presentation skills and professional orientation. - Adept at using Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Some evenings and weekends required. - Must possess a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation to travel between different worksites. - Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity check. - Non smoking work environment.
