The people who knock on our door may not be physically wounded, but they are all in need of immediate and emergency attention. Without it, they simply can’t begin the healing process required to overcome crisis situations. It’s difficult to work on an empty stomach. It’s impossible to stay warm when the utilities have been turned off. It’s tough for people to move forward when their path to a brighter future is blocked by a barrier called the poverty line.
