Lighthouse PATH Accomplishments

  • Since 1991, PATH has provided support to (390) families.
  • From July 2005 thru July 2006, 29 new families were enrolled in PATH, including 112 children who otherwise would be living in shelters and on the street.
  • 91% of all PATH residents graduate from the program as self-sufficient, responsible women who are capable of caring for themselves and their family.
  • 87% further or completed their education.
  • 93% residents became home owners.
  • 87% secured employment.
  • PATH’s state licensed Montessori center and child care services are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation's largest organization of early childhood professionals.
  • 95% of all children who graduate from PATH’s Montessori Center enter kindergarten knowing how to read and ready to excel.
  • Children from three-to-six-years-old began their early education experience under the caring guidance of PATH’s Montessori team.
  • Students between three-to-ten-years-old furthered their academic development by participating in PATH’s summer learning program.
  • Infants and toddlers were kept safe and loved at PATH’s on-site infant and toddler childcare program.
  • In January 2006, Lighthouse PATH launched a new program to address the needs of parenting and/or pregnant homeless teens. Modeled after PATH’s 16-year-old adult residential program, it is the first of its kind in Oakland County.
  • PATH’s life skills classes such as budgeting, nutrition and parenting promote personal growth and strengthen the family unit.
  • Being part of the PATH family provides women access to ongoing support form the agency’s full-time family advocate, daily living coordinators and contractual therapists.
